But Rickards is against the market. It can be confusing for us &mdash; who to believe? I think one company should have one HOUSE VIEW and not present conflicting theories all the time.

Now, here&rsquo;s what&rsquo;s happening around the water cooler this week&hellip;
<h2 class="subhead nbp">The Water Cooler &mdash; Upcoming Events and More</h2>
The major indexes rallied last week thanks to better-than-expected employment numbers and news that China might be willing to negotiate on tariffs.
Just don&rsquo;t expect it to last.
According to Rickards&rsquo; Senior Analyst Dan Amoss, &ldquo;The Chinese side says Trump must drop all unilateral tariffs before they can even set up an official meeting.&rdquo;
In other words, Trump will have to cancel the current tariffs before China starts talking.
And Trump might see the market&rsquo;s upturn as proof that Wall Street wants him to be tough on China.
So expect more back-and-forth bickering that sends the markets bouncing up and down again.
Meanwhile, U.S. ports are going idle thanks to a lack of overseas cargo. It could spur the kind of shortages we saw during the COVID lockdowns.
The first to feel the crunch will be the trucks and trains that carry those goods across the country.
The transportation industry.
&ldquo;Transport stocks will have another big leg lower through the summer,&rdquo; Dan predicts.
We&rsquo;re talking about companies like United Parcel Service Inc. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/UPS">UPS</a>)... Union Pacific Corp. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/UNP">UNP</a>)... Old Dominion Freight Line Inc. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/ODFL">ODFL</a>) &mdash; or basically any stock in the iShares Transportation ETF (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/IYT">IYT</a>).
If you&rsquo;re holding any of these stocks, you should consider an exit strategy before Wall Street realizes the danger.

&ldquo;Tariffs should be a clearly articulated policy that's promised over years, and not a negotiating tool,&rdquo; says Jim Rickards&rsquo; senior analyst, Dan Amoss. &ldquo;Because if they are a negotiating tool, businesses can't plan.&rdquo;
The president&rsquo;s ultimate goal is to convince companies to build more of their products in the United States.

Dan warns that companies that specialize in things &ldquo;like apparel or low-end electronics will never be competitive to make in the United States.&rdquo;

It&rsquo;s been a rough few weeks for cryptocurrency investors.
They surged after President Trump&rsquo;s election victory&hellip; only to slump again as his administration focused its attention elsewhere.
But Trump hasn&rsquo;t forgotten his promise to create a National Strategic Cryptocurrency Reserve. In fact, he&rsquo;s hosting a cryptocurrency summit at the White House this week.
The news alone has sent Bitcoin soaring higher.
And according to James Altucher, lesser-known cryptos are set for even bigger gains!
That&rsquo;s because Trump wants the United States to hold more than just Bitcoin.
In fact, he&rsquo;s specifically named Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL) and more as likely components of the Reserve.
James has long said he prefers Ethereum over Bitcoin because its blockchain is much more versatile.
This time, however, Solana might be the better bet.
Over the weekend, 11.2 million Solana tokens were auctioned off to help settle the debts of disgraced cryptocurrency broker FTX.
The sudden surge of supply should have caused SOL&rsquo;s price to shrink dramatically. Yet its price actually surged instead.
And now it&rsquo;s set to receive attention from the Trump administration&hellip;

Implementing these new systems will mean uprooting what&rsquo;s already there, then attracting top talent to oversee them.
In fact, we&rsquo;re hearing more and more stories about experienced tech executives landing government jobs.
As Daily Reckoning&rsquo;s Adam Sharp puts it, &ldquo;all of a sudden, it&rsquo;s cool to be a tech wizard who works for the government.&rdquo;
The possibilities are already trickling into Wall Street corporate offices, where there&rsquo;s suddenly a lot of talk about major tech mergers.
Shares of Intel Corp. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/INTC">INTC</a>) are picking up thanks to rumors that Broadcom Inc. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/AVGO">AVGO</a>) and Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg. Co. Ltd. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/TSM">TSM</a>) are looking to buy its operations.
Elon&rsquo;s xAI may be looking at potential buyouts, too.
