I got in on 5/29 @ $19.75 and did pretty well. However, even at MP&rsquo;s 52-week high of $65.84 shortly after the Apple announcement, the growth is around 557%... quite astounding. First, congratulations on buying MP at such a great price. And you&rsquo;re right &mdash; anyone who had been lucky enough to buy MP shares when they hit their 52-week low would have been up 557% at their high.
But buying stock options on MP would have given you a chance to see much bigger gains&hellip; even if you didn&rsquo;t buy MP at its low.
On May 28, MP shares were trading for $19.60 &mdash; a little below your entry price. That same day, however, the options that Altucher&rsquo;s True Alpha recommended were trading for just $0.54.
Just eight days later, MP shares were up to $25.93. The options, meanwhile, were worth $3.80. That&rsquo;s because they&rsquo;re leveraged instruments &mdash; meaning they cost a fraction of what you pay for stock shares and gain value quickly when the stock&rsquo;s price is rising.
The run from $0.54 to $3.80 was a 603% gain.
And MP&rsquo;s price kept rising &mdash; so the options went higher even faster. When MP hit its high of $65.84, the options were worth as much as $40.84. That&rsquo;s the power of leverage at work!

I would like a clarification on your investment recommendation, sir. For example: [Buy X stock] up to $440. Does this mean sell the shares when it reaches $440? Or continue to purchase until the price reaches $440?
Happy to clear this up for you, Denise. When one of our analysts says to &ldquo;buy X stock up to $440,&rdquo; it means that $440 is the maximum you should pay for the stock.
It&rsquo;s called a limit order &mdash; an instruction that tells your broker not to pay more than a set price for the stock. In this case, your broker won&rsquo;t execute your trade unless the stock costs $440 or less.
If your broker can execute your trade for less, you&rsquo;ll pay the lower amount. That is, if the stock is trading for $435 and your limit price is $440, your broker will buy it for $435.
The limit price is not the same as a profit target, either. In other words, if our analyst sets the limit price at $440 and you buy for $435, you don&rsquo;t sell the stock if its price reaches $440.
Instead, you hold the stock until our analyst says it&rsquo;s time to sell &mdash; hopefully for a significant profit.

August is just around the corner&hellip; and a lot of investors will be heading out for last-minute vacations.
So there could be a lot of volatility as Wall Street sets up trades before heading out the door.
And three big news events could throw monkey wrenches into all of those plans&hellip;
First, there&rsquo;s the Aug. 1 <a href="https://concierge.paradigmpressgroup.com/post/countdown-to-trumps-next-war">trade deal deadline</a>.
Wall Street had been wondering whether Donald Trump would stick to his high-tariff threats if countries didn&rsquo;t come to the negotiating table.
But it seems most world leaders didn&rsquo;t want to wait around to find out. Japan&hellip; the Philippines&hellip; even Europe have all hammered out agreements.
It&rsquo;s a good bet more countries will be willing to put this issue to bed before the end of July. And each tariff deal will give investors more confidence.
Next, the Federal Reserve is meeting this week to discuss interest rates, with a rate decision on Wednesday at 2 p.m. ET.
The last several meetings have had little impact on the markets. But Trump has been pushing Fed Chairman Jerome Powell to cut rates.
In fact, the president is now predicting that Powell is ready to act&hellip;
So far, investors don&rsquo;t seem to agree.
Maybe the Fed will surprise everyone. Or the Fed could keep rates the same&hellip; angering Trump to the point that he fires Powell.
It&rsquo;s a very volatile situation&hellip; and one we&rsquo;ll be watching closely.
Finally, we&rsquo;ll get earnings reports from the likes of Meta Platforms Inc. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/META">META</a>)... Apple Inc. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/AAPL">AAPL</a>)... Amazon.com Inc. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/AMZN">AMZN</a>)... Microsoft Corp. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/MSFT">MSFT</a>)... Qualcomm Inc. (<a href="https://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/QCOM">QCOM</a>)... and more.
These companies have been spending huge amounts of money on artificial intelligence (AI) applications. So Wall Street will be looking to see whether those investments are poised to pay off.
We&rsquo;ll also be keeping an eye on whether any of these companies are setting aside cash for acquisitions.
After all, the easiest way to take the lead in the AI race is to buy out a smaller competitor that&rsquo;s already done all the hard work of developing new tech.

MP Materials <a href="https://mpmaterials.com/news/mp-materials-accelerates-strategy-to-reindustrialize-the-rare-earth-supply-chain/">stopped shipping rare earths to China for processing</a> back in April. The company does the refining itself now, which is why the <a href="https://investors.mpmaterials.com/investor-news/news-details/2025/MP-Materials-Announces-Transformational-Public-Private-Partnership-with-the-Department-of-Defense-to-Accelerate-U-S--Rare-Earth-Magnet-Independence/default.aspx">U.S. Department of Defense has become one of MP&rsquo;s largest investors</a>.
It is true that producing rare earths can be a dirty business, as our <a href="https://altucherconfidential.com/posts/rare-earths-disgusting-secrets">Chris Campbell has explained</a>.
But keep in mind that MP&rsquo;s primary facility &mdash; which is currently churning out the raw materials for high tech devices &mdash; is <a href="https://mpmaterials.com/mountain-pass">located in California</a>. And that state has a reputation for draconian environmental laws.
The fact that it&rsquo;s up and running means regulators must be happy with MP&rsquo;s operations.
So, yes, China is still the top name in rare earths. But the United States is determined to break the chokehold by producing them domestically.
MP Materials is the first major beneficiary, with plenty of smaller names set to step into the limelight.

Our team monitors open recommendations in a model portfolio. To figure out which plays are still good buys, open the service&rsquo;s portfolio and check the Comments column.
You should see a sentence that says something like, &ldquo;Buy using a limit order of $30&rdquo;...
A limit price is the maximum price you should pay for a stock, as described in our FREE <a href="https://concierge.paradigmpressgroup.com/post/stock-investing-101-buying-selling-and-earning-income">Stock Investing 101</a> guide on our <a href="https://concierge.paradigmpressgroup.com/archive/wealth-desk">Wealth Desk</a>.&nbsp;
So, in general, if the stock&rsquo;s current price is below the listed limit price you can consider buying it for your portfolio.
In other words, if our analyst set the limit at $30 and the stock is trading for $28, it&rsquo;s fair game. If the stock is trading for $31, it&rsquo;s better to wait for the next opportunity to come along.
Sometimes the analyst will increase his recommended limit price, meaning it&rsquo;s safe to buy a stock up to a higher price.
And if the stock is trading much lower than the suggested limit price, you might be better off waiting for a bounce or our analyst&rsquo;s latest thoughts.
