It&rsquo;s been a rough week for the bulls.
Stocks ran into trouble again yesterday as the AI-unwind took a bite out of the major averages. The Nasdaq Composite was hit the hardest, dropping 1.9% as several tech mega-caps hit the skids.&nbsp;
The Nasdaq is now down more than 2.8% on the week &ndash; and it&rsquo;s not exactly looking peppy today as stocks remain stuck in the red.&nbsp;
Crypto is also struggling this week. Bitcoin is closing in on $100K. Ethereum is up a bit. Both continue to trail the S&amp;P this year by a wide margin.&nbsp;
Another round of companies fell into the earnings spotlight yesterday evening: SoundHound AI, Inc. (SOUN), NuScale Power Corp. (SMR), IREN Ltd. (IREN), Archer Aviation, Inc. (ACHR), Opendoor Technologies, Inc. (OPEN), Affirm Holdings, Inc. (AFRM), MP Materials Corp. (MP), Block, Inc. (XYZ)
The results were a mixed bag. But only two of these eight names exceeded EPS and revenue estimates, while only one is trading higher today &mdash; AFRM.
Red blankets the rest with XYZ and OPEN falling the hardest.
A handful of energy companies reported numbers earlier this morning.
The clean energy source, Constellation Energy Corp. (CEG), fell short of EPS estimates and is trading lower.&nbsp;
Duke Energy Corp. (DUK), with a heavy hand in natural gas, is flat after beating the street&rsquo;s expectations.
And following a double-miss, the Canadian oil and gas company Enbridge, Inc. (ENB) is down slightly.
International equities are slipping into the weekend.
Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo shares see red, as do the FTSE 100, German DAX, and Euro STOXX 50.&nbsp;
The Nikkei 225 posted its largest weekly loss since March. At the same time, it&rsquo;s now trading just below record levels after an impressive 3-month rally. Japanese stocks are ripe for a correction, and this week&rsquo;s action could mark the beginning.&nbsp;
The Shanghai Composite, on the other hand, printed its highest weekly close in over a decade and shows no signs of slowing down.
Across the pond, the FTSE 100 notched a new all-time high this week, while the German DAX drifted toward its June lows, and the STOXX 50 threw back to retest its March highs.
On the home front, U.S. stocks are attempting to dig in their heels without much success. The S&amp;P 500 is hugging a six-month trendline, but buyers are timid. We could witness the U.S. benchmark slide 100 points on a breakdown below 690.
So far, global weakness is making its way back to the U.S.
A few notes about this week&rsquo;s drawdown.&nbsp;
First, it feels worse than it really is. That&rsquo;s for a couple reasons&hellip;
All the big winners started getting hit in early October. The more speculative names are down a lot more than the averages and have been steadily dropping for four weeks.&nbsp;
Next, remember that this market has not posted a meaningful drawdown/pullback since the April tariff debacle. Smooth sailing shifts expectations &ndash; folks are used to stocks only going up. When they finally stop working, the pain is more intense.&nbsp;
Ultimately, I think it&rsquo;s too early to change our market outlook for the rest of the year. We should continue to expect stocks to eventually catch and rally into the holidays. Until something material changes and bigger trends begin to break, our plan should be to watch and wait for a bounce to emerge and play it accordingly.&nbsp;
That being said, sitting on our hands this week turned out to be a decent move. We didn&rsquo;t blindly buy into a weak market. Yes, our older open trades are getting smacked around. But we&rsquo;re not throwing good money after bad. If and when we do get a bounce off this reset, it should be a prime opportunity to take some strong bullish trades into January.
Commodities are mostly green here.
Precious metals are finding support at logical levels. Soybeans and soybean meal continue to rip (as cattle prices bite the dust). And coffee percolates just below a shelf of former all-time highs. Even crude oil and its distillates are finding a bid.
Inflation remains sticky, and interest rates remain in a structural uptrend &mdash; worldwide.
Perhaps gold, silver, palladium, and platinum are carving out tradeable lows and will rocket higher from here. Regardless, we anticipate more commodities and commodity-related stocks will join the rally as the market environment continues to favor raw materials.
<h3>Today&rsquo;s Trading Action&hellip;</h3>
No new trade today.&nbsp;
Our best move in this environment is to "hurry up and wait" -- there's no need to overtrade while most stocks are struggling here.&nbsp;
Hopefully, this flush will set us up for the beginnings of a bounce next week or the week after. I'll continue to track the averages and the more speculative tech baskets into the afternoon to see if anything interesting stands out.&nbsp;
For now, let's keep our minds in the game. There's no need to panic -- despite how the herd is acting. Lots of people are freaking out right now just because the market is off its highs. This type of sentiment washout can help set up the next bounce -- we simply have to be patient.&nbsp;

A Rough Week For The Bulls

Markets in late 2025 look manic but feel strangely stable&hellip; as if euphoria itself had become the new equilibrium.
AI valuations are at dizzying heights, the Nasdaq trades as if gravity were optional, and yet, beneath the froth, there&rsquo;s a growing sense that the next great bull run may still lie ahead.
Yes, this is an AI bubble.
Every corporate deck now features a slide on &ldquo;transformative intelligence,&rdquo; and private valuations make 1999 look conservative.
But this isn&rsquo;t 1999.
Back then, the leaders were ideas without income&hellip; websites without revenue, dreams without data centers.
This time is different. Beneath the speculative excess, real cash flow and real infrastructure are taking shape. The price action screams euphoria, but the macro backdrop tells a subtler story that could set the stage for an explosive 2026.
<h3>The Resilience Paradox</h3>
Start with the debt picture. The U.S. now carries more than $38 trillion in gross national debt, a sum that should, in theory, crush risk appetite and confidence.
Yet the opposite has happened, and the market has learned to live with excess. The 10-year yield still hovers near 4.5%, a level that signals neither panic nor surrender, just adaptation.
Global capital keeps treating U.S. assets as the safest, most productive home for money. With Japan locked in deflation and Europe flirting with stagnation, America remains the only game in town with real depth, liquidity, and growth.
Then there&rsquo;s the $7 trillion parked in money-market funds &mdash; &ldquo;cash on the sidelines,&rdquo; as strategists like to say.

It&rsquo;s the psychological residue of the 2022-2023 trauma: investors burned by rate hikes, inflation shocks, and geopolitical chaos. But as yields drift lower and confidence rebuilds, that capital won&rsquo;t sit still. When the tide turns, the chase for return could turn 2026 into one of the most explosive years in recent memory.
Even geopolitics may be shifting from headwind to tailwind. Whispers of a trade d&eacute;tente with China suggest a pragmatic recalibration after years of decoupling. A peace framework in the Russia-Ukraine war (even a partial one) would redirect trillions from defense and commodities toward productivity and infrastructure. Either outcome could unlock a surge of global risk appetite, especially across Europe and emerging markets.
Meanwhile, AI &mdash; the bubble everyone sees &mdash; could also be the bridge to the next expansion.
<h3>The Setup for 2026</h3>
Beneath the hype, real productivity gains are taking root. The billions pouring into GPUs, data centers, and model development are infrastructure, not vapor.
Just as the railroads of the 1800s or the internet of the 1990s laid down the wiring of new economies, AI is building the scaffolding for a transformation that could define the next generation.
That doesn&rsquo;t mean the road ahead is smooth. Sticky inflation, political friction, and overextended consumers will test the system.
Corrections will come.
But if 2025 turns out to be a year of consolidation &mdash; a pause rather than a pop &mdash; the setup for 2026 is formidable: leaner balance sheets, massive liquidity, and a global economy starved for optimism.
The best bull markets never begin in confidence; they begin in disbelief.

This week, the mailbag included questions on the gold price, the state of the market, and new sanctions on Russia.
Here are a few:
Q: Should gold investors be worried about the recent drop in price? &ndash; Sally R.
No. The price drop has more to do with some profit-taking by investors, which is normal with such a surge in gold in recent months. Also, there was caution in advance of the latest CPI report on inflation that could impact gold prices if a reading came in higher than expected. That didn&rsquo;t happen. The CPI report showed a 3.0% rate that was lower than expected. This is good news for gold investors. It shows the Fed will continue its rate cutting cycle next week and for the December meeting. These rate cuts will support higher gold prices. Nothing has changed in my analysis of why gold prices have surged. Central bank buying continues, output is flat, and geopolitical risks are still present. Importantly, think of gold as an &ldquo;everything hedge&rdquo;. The vectors of uncertainty are everywhere. These include tariffs, tax policy, the War in Ukraine, the rise of China, a likely recession, even left-wing violence. It&rsquo;s difficult to forecast how any one of these situations will turn out, let alone all of them and their complex interactions. Stocks and bonds can be volatile as a result. Gold is the one safe haven asset that powers through them all and offers investors some peace of mind. I expect the bull market in gold to continue to new highs.
Q: I&rsquo;m worried about my investment portfolio as markets have looked shaky lately. Could we be looking at a correction soon in stocks as you have warned? Jim T.
A: We are most definitely in a bubble. That part is easy to see. The difficult part is predicting when that bubble will burst. One factor to keep an eye on is bank lending. How much are banks lending out? If banks don&rsquo;t want to lend and creditworthy clients don&rsquo;t want to borrow, then the economy falls into a deflationary spiral or depression. In these conditions, today&rsquo;s stock market could fall to an extent we haven&rsquo;t seen since 2000 (down 80%) or 1929 (down 83%). Stock market crashes can be far more damaging to investors than even recessions because they are almost impossible to predict and huge losses happen quickly. The solution is real diversification and a kind of all-weather portfolio.&nbsp;That means gold, silver, cash, private equity and real estate along with your stocks and high-quality bonds.&nbsp;React quickly when trouble starts and move away from the worst affected assets. Don&rsquo;t tell yourself the market is wrong. The market is never right or wrong. It just is what it is. Some assets in that model portfolio may be hurt in a panic, but others will perform brilliantly. Most importantly, you&rsquo;ll live to fight another day.
Q: Will President Trump&rsquo;s new sanctions on Russia&rsquo;s two biggest oil producers make a difference for negotiations in the Ukraine War? &ndash; Nigel S.
A: No. Sanctions won&rsquo;t work. The Europeans have had 18 rounds of economic sanctions and none of them have worked. The sanctions put on by the U.S. haven&rsquo;t worked either. Russia got through the entire Cold War with almost no commerce with the United States. The fact is, Russia has not missed a shipment of oil. All the oil that Europe doesn&rsquo;t want to buy, they&rsquo;re shipping to China and India. India&rsquo;s running refineries. They&rsquo;re buying Russian oil. China is selling refined product. China needs all the energy they can get. Trump&rsquo;s foreign policy has been a disaster. Russia should be a natural ally of the West to line up against China. Instead, by fighting Russia, we&rsquo;re driven Russia and China closer together. Everything about this is counterproductive and will fail. Sanctions only work if you have a small to mid-sized power with a low reserve position, meaning hard currency, and no friends. So that could be Iran. Iran is about the biggest country where they actually did work. But when you&rsquo;re Russia, nobody else is joining in the sanctions. Brazil, China, India, Malaysia, and many other countries, none of these countries have joined the sanctions. Russia&rsquo;s not isolated. They might be isolated from France and Germany, and the U.S. to some extent, but not the rest of the world. And they have huge reserve positions. They were very smart. They put over 25% of the reserves in physical gold bullion, which you cannot seize or freeze. These reserve positions are being bolstered by the higher price of gold, and they have a ton of trading partners. So, this will all fail, and why anyone in the White House think otherwise is a mystery to me.

Privacy is on the ropes. And governments are working flat out to make sure that we have no privacy at all. Total surveillance at all times seems to be the short-term goal. Enslavement to the wishes of government is the end game. The key for individuals is to explore ways to preserve privacy and avoid the government net. That may be one of the most important crisis survival techniques in the years ahead.
This is not a new state of affairs. Governments have always wanted to control opinions of their citizens and the availability of information to the public. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is intended to prevent this abuse but the fact that the amendment was considered necessary shows that the censorship impulse was not far below the surface even in the early days of the United States.
<h2 class="subhead">Abuses Are Escalating</h2>
Here&rsquo;s a litany of recent government abuses, intrusions on free speech and attempts at censorship:
<ul class="blockquote" style="background-color: #f1f1f1;">
<li>The most audacious attack on free speech is the pursuit of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). These are being pushed on the basis that digital payments are more convenient, faster, cheaper and more reliable than cash, credit cards or debit cards. There&rsquo;s some truth in those claims but they are just a fa&ccedil;ade for the real purpose. Once governments have CDBCs, they will know how you spend your money &ndash; what books you buy, what charities you support, what candidates you donate to, what shows you see and much more. With that information and artificial intelligence (AI) it&rsquo;s easy to profile you and determine if you are an enemy of the people as Joe Biden labeled MAGA supporters. Those who are deemed political enemies can expect tax audits, search warrants aimed at them, and eventual arrest. It also a short step to ban the sales of guns, ammunition and other goods by disabling the digital payments of those deemed enemies of neo-Marxist Democrats and progressives.</li>
<li>George Galloway, an outspoken UK politician and public intellectual was arrested at Heathrow Airport when he returned to the UK days ago. He was told that he wasn&rsquo;t accused of a crime but he was not free to go. The London police took his mobile phone and other electronic devices. No doubt they downloaded the contents. This was an effort to identify his contacts and correspondents so they could be subject to illegal surveillance and harassment also.</li>
<li>The UK government and other governments around the world are trying to impose digital ID cards on all citizens. These would contain extensive personal information and would be required to be presented for boarding trains and planes, buying tickets, attending sporting events and concerts or even routine shopping. The government could disable your digital ID as required to prevent you from moving about freely and pursuing everyday activities.</li>
<li>The World Health Organization (WHO), a UN organization effectively controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is pushing a global digital health ID card. This could be used to stop freedom of movement or international travel for those who do not take mandated vaccines.</li>
<li>The U.S. &ldquo;Quiet Skies&rdquo; program was supposed to be an anti-terrorist watch list program to keep suspected terrorists off flights. Under Biden, it morphed into a way to punish political enemies by putting them on watch lists even though there was no indication of any terrorist activity at all. As an extreme example, Tulsi Gabbard was placed on a Quiet Skies watchlist. Today she is Director of National Intelligence and is working hard to reform this program.</li>
<li>There has been extensive abuse of emergency powers by politicians trying to dictate to citizens. Some emergencies are real such as natural disasters, chemical spills and extreme weather. But other emergencies are invented to give politicians an excuse to intervene in markets. The New Jersey gubernatorial candidate Mikie Sherrill wants to declare a &ldquo;State of Emergency&rdquo; in response to high electricity prices in New Jersey. Her solution will no doubt include price controls that will make matters worse. The point is that emergencies are being declared to give unwarranted power to politicians.</li>
</ul>
What&rsquo;s happening now (and getting worse) is a continuation of the attacks on free speech and the wave of censorship that swept over the country before and during the pandemic.
<h2 class="subhead">How To Escape the Surveillance State</h2>
To be clear, surveillance is pervasive and it&rsquo;s difficult to identify a space that&rsquo;s not being filmed due to home security systems, door cams, body cams and the rest. Of course, your internet message traffic is continually recorded and stored by the major tech companies and the National Security Agency (NSA). Still, there are some easy measures you can take to escape the digital dragnet:
Use cash. Intelligence agencies use credit card payments and online payments to track the whereabouts of targets. Cash is easy to use and non-digital so it cannot be traced. It&rsquo;s one way out of digital tracking.
Use Faraday sacks. One of the most pervasive ways that you are tracked is by the GPS and cell tower signals coming from your mobile phone. Even turning the phone off does not limit the signal. A Faraday sack is a leather or synthetic pouch lined with metallic fabric that blocks electronic signals. If you turn your iPhone, iPad and laptop off and store them in Faraday sacks during travel, your digital trail will go cold.
Get an old car. Either buy an old car (twenty years old or older) or keep the one you have. New cars are loaded with the same digital signaling devices contained in your mobile phone. Older cars don&rsquo;t have these. When you drive in an old car, you are not a mobile signaling device letting the government track you down.
Keep off the interstate highways. The interstate highways, bridges and state turnpikes are likely to have digital toll systems. Those systems don&rsquo;t only collect tolls; they photograph your vehicle and license plate. There&rsquo;s no way around this if you&rsquo;re on those major throughways. But the country has a network of U.S. Highways (developed in the 1920s and later before the interstate highway system) and state highways that do not collect tolls. This means they have fewer surveillance checkpoints in place.
Reduce license plate exposure. A related technique to keeping off interstate highways is to remove the front license plate from your car. Some states require it, some don&rsquo;t. Check local law, but most cops don&rsquo;t care as long as you have the rear license plate mounted. There are also license plate holders that have an opaque plastic cover. Cops can read the license plate at close range, but many surveillance cameras can&rsquo;t get a clear view from camera distance.
Other techniques include rejecting cookies on new websites, not using any more apps than completely necessary, using taxis instead of UBER, and taking the train or bus instead of flying when you can.
No one of these techniques is a complete answer to digital surveillance. But such surveillance systems rely on large aggregates of data combined with artificial intelligence (AI) to profile you. The less information you hand over, the more difficult it is to complete the profile.
Good luck avoiding the digital dragnet. It&rsquo;s not possible to avoid it entirely but every little bit helps.

As much as I&rsquo;d like to sit in the velvet seats of a Taipei opera house, this trip has nothing to do with sightseeing.
Friday, I boarded a plane with my brother Mason &mdash; roughly 20 hours in the air from South Florida, plus the long crawl through airports and layovers &mdash; to land in a place that may decide the fate of the 21st century .
Because we may be on the eve of World War III&hellip; And that&rsquo;s not me being hyperbolic.
The threat of a Chinese invasion is real, and if it happens, it won&rsquo;t just redraw maps in Asia. It will shatter the global order &mdash; and the global economy &mdash; overnight.
I can&rsquo;t reveal all the names on my itinerary yet, but I&rsquo;ll be sitting down with figures at the highest levels of Taiwan&rsquo;s government and defense.
I&rsquo;ll also be walking the factory floors of semiconductor fabs &mdash; the crown jewels of global technology &mdash; where chips are born that power modernity. Mason will share more about that in a moment.

<h3>A Brief History of a Dangerous Triangle</h3>
The roots of this standoff between China and Taiwan go back more than 70 years.
When Mao&rsquo;s communists seized mainland China in 1949, Chiang Kai-shek&rsquo;s Nationalists fled across the strait and set up a rival government &mdash; the Republic of China &mdash; in Taiwan.
Beijing has insisted ever since that Taiwan is a renegade province.
Washington, meanwhile, has walked a tightrope: officially recognizing &ldquo;One China,&rdquo; while sustaining an unofficial, but very real, partnership with Taiwan.
For decades, the U.S. relied on strategic ambiguity &mdash; not saying whether we&rsquo;d defend Taiwan, but signaling enough to keep Beijing cautious.
That shadow game is nearing its end. Xi Jinping has ordered the People&rsquo;s Liberation Army (PLA) to be ready to seize Taiwan by 2027.
Not necessarily a declaration of invasion, but a chilling readiness deadline that the Pentagon is taking very seriously.
<h3>The Loop That Never Closed</h3>
This isn&rsquo;t Taiwan&rsquo;s first brush with catastrophe. Four times in the past 75 years, the island has teetered on the edge of war&hellip;
<ul>
<li>The first crisis came in the early 1950s, when Mao shelled Taiwan&rsquo;s offshore islands. Eisenhower responded by openly weighing nuclear options &mdash; deterrence through raw force</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>The second was 1958, when the PLA escalated shelling again and the U.S. rushed arms and reinforcements</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>The third was 1995&ndash;96, when China tested missiles in the Taiwan Strait to intimidate Taiwan&rsquo;s voters. Washington sent carriers steaming through &mdash; a message Beijing couldn&rsquo;t miss</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>The fourth crisis started in 2022, when then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi landed in Taipei on a congressional visit. China&rsquo;s fury was volcanic! The PLA encircled Taiwan with live-fire drills and ballistic missile launches, rehearsing a blockade. It looked like the overture to war.</li>
</ul>
That loop has never closed, to be clear. It&rsquo;s still open, and still dangerous.
Keep in mind, the Chinese Communist Party thinks in years, not election cycles. Could a Taiwan invasion be part of Xi&rsquo;s five-year plan, starting with Pelosi&rsquo;s visit in 2022?
Xi&rsquo;s already told his military to be ready by 2027. Plus, he&rsquo;s purged political rivals, stockpiled grain and oil and re-engineered China&rsquo;s economy for wartime resilience.
Xi doesn&rsquo;t just want Taiwan back &mdash; he wants the world to see America powerless to stop him.
<h3>Taiwan&rsquo;s Own Plan: The Hedgehog</h3>
Taiwan knows it can&rsquo;t match China ship for ship, plane for plane or soldier for soldier. So Taiwan is preparing differently.
The strategy is called the &ldquo;hedgehog.&rdquo; Make Chinese provocation painful in the extreme.
Instead of billion-dollar prestige weapons, Taiwan is buying tens of thousands of drones, loitering munitions and coastal defense missiles.
Think Ukraine&rsquo;s success against Russia&rsquo;s navy and armor.
Taiwan wants to replicate that on a larger, deadlier scale: swarms of cheap drones, robotic sea craft designed to ram warships and software to knit them into one fighting network.
The goal is straightforward: Turn any Chinese invasion into a bloodbath.
<h3>The Human Element</h3>
For all the talk of weaponry, don&rsquo;t forget the Taiwanese people. Two-thirds of its citizens now identify solely as Taiwanese &mdash; not Chinese.
More than 80% flatly reject Beijing&rsquo;s &ldquo;one country, two systems&rdquo; framework. And the younger generation especially wants nothing to do with Communist rule.
That means this wouldn&rsquo;t just be a military conquest. It would be a political occupation of 23 million citizens who want no part of it.
Taiwan&rsquo;s government regularly stages air raid drills and civil defense exercises; students in schools practice evacuations, and families keep &ldquo;go bags&rdquo; packed.
For everyday life on the island, the shadow of conflict is never far away.
If Beijing moves, it won&rsquo;t just face Taiwan&rsquo;s military. It will face Taiwan&rsquo;s spirit of independence &mdash; and a population primed to resist.
<h3>The Costs of War</h3>
Bloomberg Economics puts the global cost of an invasion at $10 trillion &mdash; roughly 10% of global GDP. That would make it the largest economic shock of the modern era.
They estimate U.S. GDP alone could shrink nearly 7% in the first year of such a conflict.
Markets would collapse overnight. Supply chains would snap. Inflation would spike.
But this isn&rsquo;t just about economics. If Beijing succeeds, it signals the end of American dominance in the Pacific.
Allies like Japan, the Philippines and Australia would be forced to recalibrate. And the tremors would spread well beyond Asia.
Europe, the Middle East, Africa &mdash; all would start hedging bets on a new global power.
Those are the real costs. And that&rsquo;s why this trip matters.
<h3>Boots on the Ground</h3>
We&rsquo;re on a six-day fact-finding mission. Jet lag notwithstanding, I expect Mason and I will barely sleep.
We&rsquo;ll be sitting across from generals, government ministers and C-suite executives, asking the questions that cut through the noise.
We&rsquo;ll be walking factory floors where chips are born that power automobiles, encrypt bank accounts and anchor the radars, satellites and missiles that decide wars before they&rsquo;re fought.
Rationally, an invasion may not make sense. China would unravel 30-plus years of its own economic progress! But geopolitics isn&rsquo;t about common sense. It&rsquo;s about the choices of leaders &mdash; autocrats most of all.
Xi Jinping has tipped his hand. He&rsquo;s preparing.
That&rsquo;s why I&rsquo;m here in Taiwan: to separate the signal from noise. And Mason will bring his market expertise to what this means for portfolios, for investments, for America&rsquo;s future.

September 10th brought the launch of IonQ Federal, led by former intelligence director Robert Cardillo. With over $100 million in government contracts already secured, this represents strategic positioning for national security applications.
Another catalyst for IONQ shares was the Analyst Day presentation at the NYSE, revealing a 100-qubit prototype system with computational space 36 quadrillion times larger than International Business Machines Corporation (IBM)&rsquo;s public systems.
September 17th delivered a triple announcement:&nbsp;

IONQ says they'll soon connect two quantum computers over standard wavelengths, opening the floodgates for broadly networked quantum devices.
The Oxford Ionics merger brings world-record 99.99% gate fidelity and electronic qubit control that enables 2 million qubits for "low tens of millions" in parts cost. This electronic control approach offers huge cost advantages over competitors' laser-controlled systems requiring expensive cryogenic infrastructure.
Vector Atomic adds quantum sensing for navigation and timing, including classified work on the X-37B orbital platform. This isn't research - it's deployed national security technology.
<h3>The Infrastructure Play</h3>
Our original IONQ recommendation positioned it as the "picks and shovels" quantum provider for AI.&nbsp;
Quantum computing is expected to deliver a future generation of machine intelligence, and IONQ is also evolving into the networking layer for quantum computing.

The market cap has expanded from $5.75 billion to $22.33 billion as revenue guidance continues rising and bookings hit $95.6 million.

IONQ’s Quantum Acceleration

President Trump is staying true to his "America First" agenda.
His mission to use our nation&rsquo;s vast, untapped mineral resources to simultaneously address the nation&rsquo;s gargantuan $37.5 trillion national debt will free us from our widespread reliance on Chinese rare earths and other resources.
Earlier this year, the president has already issued executive orders to access our nation's vast <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/03/immediate-measures-to-increase-american-mineral-production/">mineral deposits</a> in a push to establish America&rsquo;s <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/02/a-plan-for-establishing-a-united-states-sovereign-wealth-fund/">first Sovereign Wealth Fund</a>. Such a fund would open up America's federal lands containing $150 trillion in untapped mineral wealth to the public.
Also, the president established the <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/07/establishing-the-presidents-make-america-beautiful-again-commission/">Make America Beautiful Again Commission</a> to coordinate conservation, recreation, and economic growth strategies, with a strong emphasis on deregulation and private-sector involvement.
In addition, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025 (OBBB) was passed by Congress and signed into law on July 4. It&rsquo;s important because it advances the American Birthright opportunities even further for investors.
In this bill, environmental-related provisions will expedite reviews for investment projects and rescind funds under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (actually the Green New Scam in disguise) for green energy programs that were diverted to progressive activist groups.
In the area of natural resources, the OBBB will replenish the Strategic Petroleum Reserve that was depleted by Joe Biden for political purposes. The moratorium on new coal leasing permits will end. Oil and gas leasing in Alaska will be approved. Onshore oil and gas lease sales will be expanded, and timber harvesting will be increased.
<h2 class="subhead">The Latest Move</h2>
Now, the Trump administration is making another move in a new phase of the American Birthright mission.
On September 10, the U.S. Department of the Interior under Doug Burgum declared its intent to rescind the 2024 Public Lands Rule. This is a Biden-era rule which placed conservation on equal footing with uses such as natural gas drilling, mining, and timber.
The Interior Department argues the rescission will restore a "balanced multiple-use" framework and eliminate regulatory uncertainty for industries like energy and mining. There will be a 60-day public comment period which ends on November 10. After that, we&rsquo;ll closely monitor where this proposed rescission goes at that point.
Energy and mining groups believe this move will increase access to resources and support domestic energy needs. The Biden administration had treated conservation as &ldquo;no use,&rdquo; meaning the land was to be left idle rather than authorizing legitimate uses of the land like energy development.
Remember - the Biden years were a disaster for miners; Biden sank several expansive, high-profile domestic mine projects by either sidelining or stopping proposals. He ceded control of our supply chains. We've been in a trade war with China since Trump's first term, and yet we are no less dependent on foreign minerals despite everything that has happened since.
To protect the &ldquo;environment,&rdquo; Biden and his radical green agenda scam destroyed our middle class. They shipped our key industries overseas. Then bottled-up America&rsquo;s most valuable resources. America, a fully developed country famous for its "Gold Rushes", can hardly out-mine a much smaller, poorer nation.
Now, Trump wants to unlock the mineral wealth in federal lands, gut the bureaucracy, and unleash this mineral wealth. And companies are responding.
Thacker Pass, home to the largest known measured and indicated lithium resource in North America, announced a $250 million strategic investment earlier in the year. Historic Bunker Hill mine also saw $40 million in a fresh investment to restart and produce zinc and lead concentrates. This is just the beginning.
Mining efforts in lithium, cobalt, nickel, copper and other materials will be pursued avidly. Those sectors will outperform almost every other sector in the stock market. Industrial metals will be in increased demand related to the expansion of U.S. manufacturing. Precious metals will be in demand as a hedge against geopolitical uncertainty and as a non-digital store of wealth.
The bad news is that we find ourselves in a new global race for minerals &ndash; one that the prior administration left us hamstrung in.
The good news is that Trump's presidency has just begun, and we're already seeing signs of a new American "Gold Rush" when it comes to critical minerals.
There are years of positive policy movement from this administration to look forward to: an incredible window for investors to get rich off the coming metals and mining boom.
It&rsquo;s also good for the country. Because not only does opening up these lands to exploration benefit drilling and mining companies, but it also results in high-paying jobs, increased GDP, industrial capacity and output as well as reduces the debt by adding extra revenue to the federal government.
It&rsquo;s an exciting time for America as the government is finally using the asset side of its balance sheet to benefit America and provide citizens with their birthright advantages.
What does this mean for you as an investor? It means more investing in American companies that will benefit from Trump reducing regulations on development and moving to reshore industry. That is, own hard assets like energy and resources, plus of course, precious metals. But it also opens up profit opportunities in other sectors of the market as well.

The mailbag included questions on Trump&rsquo;s deregulating agenda, century bonds, and a major foreign policy blunder.
Here are a few:
Q: How will President Trump handle the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in allowing America to open its abundant resources to keep up with AI demand for energy resources? As deregulation is needed, do you believe he will disband the FERC? &ndash; Jeff W.
A: Trump will not disband the FERC. His preferred method in dealing with regulatory agencies is to capture them with his own appointees who are supportive of his deregulatory agenda. FERC will not stand in the way of opening U.S. natural resource development including oil, natural gas and uranium mining and processing. This is good news for investors who take advantage of American Birthright opportunities coming down the pipeline.
Q: Would issuing 100-year bonds be effective in reducing the U.S. national debt? &ndash; Tom R.
A: Issuing 100-year bonds by itself does not reduce the national debt. The Treasury would simply be substituting one maturity (100-years) for some shorter maturity (say, 10-years) without reducing the total debt. Still, 100-year debt might carry lower interest rates than other maturities because those instruments would be highly attractive to institutions with long-term liabilities such as insurance companies and endowments. A lower interest rate could save the government some interest expense, which could reduce the deficit slightly.
Q: Has Trump&rsquo;s latest tariffs on India shaken the India - U.S. economic alliance against China? If so, how will this impact global trade? &ndash; Brenda B.
A: Trump&rsquo;s tariffs on India are a huge blunder. The idea was to impose secondary sanctions on India because they buy oil from Russia and export refined products to the rest of the world. This effectively bypasses sanctions on Russian oil exports. The U.S. tariffs on India have not changed a thing. India has made it clear that they will continue to buy Russian oil. But the tariffs have soured a budding economic alliance between India and the U.S. The U.S. should ally with India and Russia in order to isolate China. Instead, the U.S. has alienated India and Russia and driven them closer to China. This will prove to be one of the greatest failures in the history of U.S. foreign policy. The impact on world trade will be slight but the damage to U.S.-India trade will be enormous.

A Green Light for American Birthright Opportunities

We are really starting to see the cracks show in the current market leadership right now&hellip; And investors are starting to recognize a noticeable change in what&rsquo;s working in the market.
After months of steady gains, stemming from the rebound move that kicked off in April, many of the stocks that powered higher during that rally are now running out of steam.
Traders who rode those names up are taking some of their profits off the table. And we&rsquo;re likely to see this trend continue as we settle into September, a seasonally volatile time for stocks.
However, while some might view this as weakness, there&rsquo;s another side to the story that shows we&rsquo;re seeing some healthy action right now.
It all has to do with rotation, something we have talked about a few times now. Specifically, two sectors I saw benefiting from this rotation were homebuilders and biotech names.&nbsp;
Today, I want to take a look at two more sectors I believe are poised to perform well as this rotation extends.
But first, let&rsquo;s look at how these rotations form.
The rally that began in April was powerful. But no rally goes in a straight line.
When stocks run too far, too fast, they get stretched on both technical and fundamental levels.
Prices move well ahead of earnings growth or realistic expectations. That&rsquo;s when disciplined traders step in and take money off the table.
The recent wave of profit-taking is a reflection of that discipline.
Names that more than doubled or surged 30 to 50% in just a few months are now cooling off.
It doesn&rsquo;t mean those companies are suddenly bad investments; it just means the market needs to reset itself. Some of these stocks have simply gotten too expensive. 
And overheated names can&rsquo;t carry the entire market forever.
So when traders sell expensive stocks, they often turn around and redeploy that capital into cheaper names.
This rotation is the lifeblood of a healthy market. It allows momentum to broaden out rather than stay concentrated in a handful of sectors or mega-cap companies.
Without rotation, markets risk becoming top-heavy.
That kind of imbalance eventually collapses under its own weight. But when capital starts to flow into other areas such as small caps, financials, industrials, cyclical names, or others, it signals a more sustainable rally.
So while we last talked about biotech and homebuilders being two areas I am seeing money rotate into, I wanted to look at two more pockets of opportunity that stand to benefit from lower interest rates.
With pressure mounting on the Fed to start cutting rates, we could quickly see these sectors pick up steam.
First up, let&rsquo;s look at small cap stocks&hellip;
Smaller companies tend to thrive when borrowing costs come down.
They&rsquo;re more sensitive to changes in financing conditions because they often rely heavily on debt to fund growth.
Lower rates mean easier access to credit, cheaper financing, and better margins.
Historically, small caps have outperformed during periods of monetary easing, and traders are already beginning to rotate into these names.
With extra pressure on the Fed, I wouldn&rsquo;t be surprised for some of these small caps to really blossom, at least in the short-term.
And one way to position yourself for gains on small caps is with the iShares Russell 2000 ETF (<a href="http://my.paradigmpressgroup.com/ticker/IWM">IWM</a>). 
ETFs act as a great way to gain exposure to a sector without having to do the leg-work of researching individual companies.
Then, some more stocks I see performing well in the coming months are the large cap financial companies.
When rates fall, corporations find it cheaper to issue bonds or refinance existing debt.
That translates directly into business for big banks, which earn substantial fees for underwriting and structuring those deals.
As companies rush to take advantage of lower borrowing costs, financial giants see a surge in activity across debt capital markets.
That makes them attractive plays during times of monetary easing.
So for active traders, it can pay to avoid clinging to overheated stocks.
If a position has delivered strong gains since April, it may be time to take profits and look for opportunities in sectors just beginning to benefit from the next phase of this cycle.
That doesn&rsquo;t mean abandoning quality companies altogether.
It means reading the writings on the walls.
This kind of discipline helps traders avoid giving back gains while positioning themselves for the next wave of leadership.
