December WatchList
Don’t expect a quiet December!
Our team is tracking three separate events that could impact your portfolio before we ring in the New Year.
And they’re developing strategies to help you profit from the twists and turns we see ahead.
After our Top Stories and the Reader Forum, I’ll tell you what to watch out for as we get ready for 2026!
Your Top Stories & Analysis of the Week:
- “What the Pilgrims Found at Plymouth Rock” (The Rude Awakening, Byron King): Everybody knows the story of the first Thanksgiving. But Byron digs even deeper, explaining the challenges the new arrivals faced… and how they made a lasting home despite the long odds. He also shares some of the Pilgrim’s values that are still with us today — including a few we’d rather be rid of. And he ties it all into gold mining, offering a few companies you may wish to look into!
- “Thankful for the Greatest Game on Earth” (Truth & Trends, Enrique Abeyta): In a special holiday edition, Enrique paused his usual look at the markets to share something more personal — the things he’s most grateful for. But it’s not a schmaltzy list of sentimental cliches. Instead, it’s a look at things that have truly changed our lives, even if we sometimes take them for granted. So I think you’ll be surprised by what he has to say — and not surprised to learn this was Enrique’s most-liked story last week.
- “A Crisis Americans (Including Trump) Can’t Afford” (Jim Rickards’ Strategic Intelligence, Jim Rickards): “Affordability” is likely to be the biggest buzzword of the 2026 midterm elections. And as Jim recently told his Strategic Intelligence members, Donald Trump is losing the messaging fight. He explains why Trump is getting most of the blame for today’s high prices, even though it’s not his fault. And Jim lays out three things Trump can do to get household costs down before people head to the voting booths. See why this was our most-liked story last week!
Remember, we publish tens to HUNDREDS of stories. The write-ups above are our TOP ones for the week — including one that had been roped off from the public. If you want to stay ahead of the pack, make sure you’re caught up now.

The Reader Forum:
First in the Forum today, member W.G. wants Chris Campbell to know:
Your articles are always entertaining, but most importantly — funny. It keeps us looking forward to what you’ll write next time. And your writing keeps us as paying subscribers… Keep up the good work.
If you’re seeing this, W.G., thanks for writing in! Our editors and analysts tackle a lot of deep and complicated topics. So they work extra hard to make sure our research is entertaining, too.
You shouldn’t walk away just knowing something new. You should also feel good about what you’ve learned. Humor is one way to do that… and the fact that you’ve noticed means that Chris is doing it right!
Next up, Daniel P. tells Jim Rickards:
I’ve had an outstanding year trading gld thanks to you.
I’m not sure whether you meant gold or the SPDR Gold Trust (GLD), Daniel. But I guess it doesn’t matter…
Jim has recommended holding both physical precious metals as well as the gold-based exchange-traded fund. And both are up spectacularly for the year.
In fact, along with his “Birthright” predictions, Jim has been on a real roll this year — helping his members see massive profits in raw materials.
So I can’t wait to hear his predictions for 2026. Stay tuned!
Finally for today, John L. asks Jim Rickards:
Where do I change my mailing address?
Jim passed this question along to me and my customer service team, John. Remember, the fastest way to resolve membership requests is to contact us directly, instead of emailing our analysts.
And while I or a member of my staff will be reaching out to you, we also make it very easy to change your mailing address.
You can log into our website, then click the gear icon in the upper-right of the screen.

That brings up your Account page. It should automatically open your Account Settings and Personal Info.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you’ll find the red “Edit” button.

Click it, then fill in or replace your information. When you’re done, click the red “Update” button. This will automatically update your name, email address, phone number and mailing address in our system.
Updating your address is just as easy on our smartphone app!
Tap the profile pic in the upper right-hand corner of the screen — the one that looks like a person in a circle — to open up the Settings menu. Then tap “Personal Info” to change your email or mailing address.

Your address will instantly update in our system, both for mailing and billing — so you’ll have nothing to worry about!
That wraps up this week’s Reader Forum.
Remember, your feedback is vital to our success… so please email me at concierge@paradigmpressgroup.com.
Questions? I’ll get answers! Comments? Let me hear them! Problems? I’ll try to solve them!
This is YOUR forum!
(And don’t forget, we also have a FREE library of introductory investment guides — covering everything from finding a broker to how to trade stock options — on our Wealth Desk. For customer service issues, please use our contact page.)
Now, here’s what’s happening around the water cooler this week…
The Water Cooler — Upcoming Events and More
The days after Thanksgiving can seem like a blur as everyone looks forward to the year-end holidays.
But don’t tune out the markets… because three big events will create incredible profit opportunities in the days ahead.
First, retailers are counting up their Black Friday revenue — and hoping to juice those numbers with Cyber Monday sales.
Our team expects to learn a lot about consumer spending, debt levels and general economic sentiment from the data. We’ll also get clues about corporate revenue and profits.
There could be patterns that Wall Street is missing… giving you a chance to sneak into plays that will pay off when earnings season starts again.
Also watch out for the Federal Reserve meeting next week.
For nearly a year, the Fed’s interest rate decisions have been non-events on Wall Street.
Now that everyone is worried about the economy, however, investors are suddenly reacting to every hint the Federal Reserve governors give.
In fact, for the first time in a long time, it’s not 100% clear whether the Fed will cut rates again or keep them steady.
The chance for a surprise means volatility — which can be great for options plays.
And finally, there’s the chance for a Santa Claus rally — a seasonal bump in stocks that usually appears as we head into the New Year.
It can be a great time for call options… unless Santa skips Wall Street this year.
So we’ll be watching closely — guiding you through whatever December throws your way!
